The internet produces approximately everything and keeps approximately nothing.

What survives the first 48 hours usually becomes forgettable by the weekend. What survives the weekend sometimes becomes the month. What survives the month occasionally becomes permanent.

This collection is built from the permanent ones.

Not the ones that were funny last Tuesday —the ones that were funny, then became true, then became the way people actually think. The references that don't need a date to explain them because they've stopped belonging to a moment and started belonging to a vocabulary.

The Academy takes archaeology seriously. The internet doesn't date these pieces.
